Ha sido todo un placer compartir los Cärpatos contigo, y aunque el grupo no era muy equilibrado (en cuanto al nivel), has sabido completar los recorridos perfectamente . cosa nada fácil .Mi mas sincera enhorabuena (de "montañero" a "montañero" ).En cuanto a la logística (recorridos-refugios-alimentación-horarios-etc.) todo estaba organizado con una gran profesionalidad , amabilidad y muuucha paciencia (lo que te agradezco de verdad ).
Resumiendo ha sido una gran experiencia montañera (y humana) recorrer los senderos de los Cárpatos con un enamorado de las montañas como tu y espero que coincidamos alguna otra vez subiendo y bajando montañas (es seguro que lo pasaremos muy bien). Un fuerte abrazo y hasta siempre.

Desde Cádiz le damos las Gracias a Julian Panescu, por su profesionalidad, amabilidad y buen hacer a de todos los que hicimos la travesía de los Carpatos en Rumania, en agosto de 2017.La ruta fue espectacular y con la dificultad propia de la alta montaña, que Julían, en todo momento estuvo atento y pendiente de todos nosotros y nosotras para facilitarnos el trayecto, haciéndonoslo mas ameno desde el principio hasta el final de la ruta.Nos gusto mucho la cuidad de Sibiu. En cuanto a los albergues todos ellos estaban mejor de los que esperábamos, por lo que tenemos que felicitarlo. La comida muy buena y variada. No tuvimos ningún problema, por lo que recomendamos esta travesía y sobre todo al guía por su buen hacer. Gracias por todo
I can thoroughly recommend Iulian Panescu and George Serban as mountain guides and also as tour guides.
In June 2017 a group of 11 of us travelled to Romania for 9 days to trek in the Carpathian Alps. We were met at Bucharest airport upon arrival at 10pm by Iulian and taken to a very good hotel. The following day we were taken on a cultural tour and then for a trek in the mountains. Over the course of the following 8 days we were taken on excellent hikes in the mountains, culminating in spectacular views from Romania’s highest peak, Moldoveanu at 2,544 meters.
Iulian and his company looked after us extremely well with great food and accommodation and spectacular hiking. They were extremely helpful throughout the trip and could not do enough for us. My hillwalking club had used them the previous year and had an equally brilliant experience. I have no hesitation in recommending Iulian and his company to any prospective walking groups in Romania.
I wish Iulian and his company continued success in the future.

Our group of 9 hikers spent 9 days in Romania at end June 2017, guided by MountainGuide Sibiu. This involved 7 days hiking in Transylvania, including Baiului, Bucegi, Piatra Craiului and Fagaras Mountains. We also visited Peles Castle, Bran Castle, had a guided tour of Sibiu, and also visited Brasov and Bucharest.
Our group was met at the airport by our excellent, friendly and generous guide Iulian. The hiking was challenging, but Iulian started with relatively easier hikes and then increased the challenge as he carefully assessed our capabilities before we took on Moldoveanu Peak , “the Roof of Romania” at 2,544m and the highlight of our trip. Some of the scenery was reminiscent of Switzerland and Austria, which I had not expected. The Zarnesti Gorges where the film Cold Mountain was made was lovely. It was necessary for Iulian to hand us over to his colleague, George, for the night at Paltinu Cabin and the 2 nights at Podragu Cabin, which included the hike to Moldoveanu. George was an equally excellent guide for those 3 days, and we felt very confident under his leadership as we handled the more tricky sections near the summit. Paltinu Cabin was excellent. Beforehand, I had read some poor reviews about Podragu Cabin, but I felt that it was of an appropriate standard for such a remote location. There were washroom facilities there but no showers, and there were normal toilets there that seem to have been recently installed. Perhaps it has been upgraded. The food was good compared with other mountain huts that I have used in the past.
I was very impressed with Brasov as a city, and Sibiu as a town. Adela gave us a guided tour of Sibiu and its rich history, and I can highly recommend Adela for her knowledge and eloquence.
Our helpful and friendly coach driver had just a few words of English, but the language barrier did not impede the development of a good relationship with us.
This was a memorable holiday that left us with a good impression of Romania and its people, and especially the beautiful Transylvanian mountains and countryside. MountainGuide Sibiu delivered what they promised. Their personnel work well as a team, and their almost all-inclusive trip (flights not included) was very good value for money from our perspective.

A little note to say a big thank you, you all for a really memorable trip to Romania. I have come home full of wonderful memories. Thank you for the disc of photos which will help to keep the memories fresh in my mind. I also want to thank you particularly for supplying me with boots when my poor old boots began to fall apart! I know I would have had big problems with my own boots particularly on the walks in the Fagaras Mountains. I would also like to thank you to you Iulian for encouraging me to go with the group to up to the hut and to thank you George for your sensitive guidance and support to me on the narrow sections when I was feeling a bit worried. The three days in the Fagaras Mts were a real treat and very enjoyable.
Thank you for planning for us great holiday with wonderful walks, little treats like cool beers at the end of walks and of course cultural tours, I really enjoyed our walking tour with Adela in Sibiu. It was a lovely way to finish up our trip, Sibiu is a beautiful city. I have left Romania with a hope to return again sometime soon to explore your lovely country further.
Datorită echipei MountainGuide-Sibiu, visul meu a devenit realitate – am ajuns pe acoperișul României, Vf. Moldoveanu 2544m. Totodată am avut parte cu toții de un weekend fantastic în munții Făgărași, atât la pensiune unde am fost cazați cât și în tura montană, o atmosferă superbă, un timp frumos și oameni plini de entuziasm și curaj. Vreau să mulțumesc din suflet întregii echipe a ghizilor pentru profesionalism dar și această oportunitate și bună organizare. Mă bucur că v-am cunoscut și sper ca și în continuare să am ocazia să mai merg alături de voi în alte ture montane la fel de interesante cum a fost asta. A fost prima dar cu siguranță nu ultima mea escapadă montană alături de voi! Sănătate și cât mai multe puteri spre mai mulți și spre mai înalți!

Iulian is a great guide and organiser. I did two trips with him this summer and had a great time on both. He knows great places and can take you off the beaten track. On our ascent of Moldoveano he did a great job organising a huge group and I was delighted to be a part of it. It was one of my best days in Romania - stunning scenery, great company, a tasty barbeque dinner afterwards and a real sense of achievement. I would highly recommend doing a trip with Iulian.
